Valplast dentures are a new type of flexible partial denture that can replace multiple missing teeth.
Why Would I Need a Valplast Denture?
Valplast dentures are a great treatment for:
- Replacing multiple missing teeth and are fitted around your natural teeth
- If you are a nervous patient – this is a totally non-invasive treatment
- Giving you your beautiful smile again
This is a custom made denture that will be made exactly for your mouth. The benefits of all custom dentures is that they will be comfortable and function more like your natural teeth.
How Durable Are Valplast Dentures?
The resin used in valplast has a lifetime guarantee for usual wear and tear. But we still recommend patients to carefully handle their new denture as they can break if dropped onto a hard surface.
Main Benefits of Valplast Dentures
- Completely custom made for you
- Is flexible and accommodates for changes in your mouth
- Lightweight but sturdy
- Natural looking, and a more discrete option
- No tooth preparation required
- Hypoallergenic material used
What Is Valplast Made From?
Valplast is different from other acrylic dentures, as it is made from nylon. The way the material is formed by using a heat process on a single component, and there is no chance of any reactive chemicals being left in the denture. With the traditional acrylic dentures, they are made up of different components that are created through a chemical reaction. This reaction can leave traces of “monomer” – often the cause for allergic reactions in the mouth, around the sensitive soft tissue.
How Are Valplast Dentures Made?
Just like getting any type of denture it all begins with an impression of your mouth. We will use a tray and a silicone putty which is put in your mouth, allowed to set, and then removed to make a mould. These are sent off to the dental laboratory where they will make a cast model, which is used to create special custom made trays.
With the newly made special trays, we will take secondary impressions of your mouth, which will be more accurate and used to make a mockup of your denture, known as the try stage.
The try stage is a very important part of the process. We will be able to check important factors, such as the bite, set up (arrangement), accuracy of the shade etc before they are finally made at the dental laboratory. When we get your new dentures back, the final stage will be to have them fitted. Like all dentures, it is to be expected that there will be a level of adjustment required to get the denture perfect.
